Embracing the Magic of the Summer Solstice
In honor of the changing of the seasons and this summer solstice, let us embrace the spark and possibility for hope, growth and changed behaviors. For the next 30 days, I will post a writing or thought prompt you can use to reflect on improving mental wellness, worthiness, and/or anxiety.
A Little Process for Growth
Growth is change and change causes discomfort but staying stagnant may cause even more pain even though it may feel like comfortable pain. It is a place we know, so we feel okay staying there even though it can be so incredibly painful. Finding ways to respond and work through the discomfort is imperative to growing and changing in ways we want to change or grow. I have noticed a pattern emerge when I’m working through new challenges or the discomfort of change and growth. It is a little process for growth consisting of Curiosity, Courage, and Compassion.
Taking Time to Feel Gratitude
There is a lot of talk about gratitude this time of year, and many of us express thanks for things and people. But, I’d like you to consider if you are really taking the time to lean in to the feelings of gratitude, especially during a time of year that is filled with so much activity and often stress.
Finding Your Inner Glenda the Good Witch
That gloominess that was enveloping me has been replaced by a light and joyful energy, and I continued to remain curious about this occurrence, how it happened, and what could've created this change. That night, just before my inner Glenda showed up, I had finally asked a question that allowed space for a new energy and different emotions. I was stuck in a cycle of anger and fear and wasn't allowing space for compassion and joy, so when I realized my energy wasn't where I wanted it to be and questioned it, invitation and space were created to feel something different.
The Tricky Tricky Mind
The mind can play tricks on us, cause us to avoid healthy habits, and we can end up in a state of disarray without even knowing it. Be mindful of queues from the body, the present moment and practice serenity.
