Prioritizing Your Self-Care this Season
We are a few weeks into spring! This season always has the potential to create a sense of renewal and growth, making it the perfect time to focus on and prioritize your self-care and well-being. Some ways to support your self-care this season are:
Spend Time Outdoors: I know many of us have been waiting for the weather to change, and I hope your days have gotten warmer and brighter! Springtime offers the perfect opportunity to get outside and soak up some sun. Spend time outdoors to improve your mood, reduce stress, and increase your vitamin D levels. Try going for a walk, a hike, or simply sitting in a park and noticing your surroundings. Take advantage of this time to hear the birds singing, see flowers and trees coming to life, and hopefully experience some beautiful renewing weather.
Practice Mindfulness: As the world around us comes back to life, take a moment to tune into your senses and be present in the moment. Practicing mindfulness just ten minutes a day has been shown to provide great benefits. Try practicing mindfulness meditation or simply taking a few moments each day to focus on your breath and be present in the moment.
Spring Clean: Spring cleaning isn't just good for your home – it's good for your health too! Clearing out clutter and organizing your space can help reduce stress and promote a greater sense of calm. Take some time to declutter your space, donate or sell items you no longer need, and organize your belongings in a way that allows for more spaciousness and peace.
Practice Self-Care: Anytime is a great time to focus on your self-care! By making it a priority today, you can create supportive habits and behaviors that will benefit you in the long term. Remember to be kind to yourself and practice positive self-talk, while engaging in activities that promote your well-being. This could be as simple as taking a relaxing bath or indulging in a favorite hobby. As someone who is recovering from people-pleasing tendencies, I understand how challenging it can be to prioritize self-care. However, I've learned that it's crucial to create a plan and hold myself accountable to ensure that I am taking care of myself. When I neglect my self-care, I can feel the negative impact on my mental and physical health. Therefore, it's vital to make self-care a priority in our daily lives.

Consider how you want to feel at the end of the season and work backward on what it will take to feel that way. Remember, you are worth it!
